The "Biggest" dunk of the night .

NBA All-Star Saturday holds events, challenges, and performances giving the NBA players a chance to show their talent on a stage that we aren’t able to see in the actual game. The Saturday event is suppose to hold all the hype leading up to the All-Star game on Sunday. The final event is usually the best, and have everyone waiting impatiently that of course is the dunk contest. Dwight “Superman” Howard's performance from a year ago will go down as one of the most memorable performances in recent memory of this century since Vince Carter sucked the gravity right out of the arena. New York Knicks guard Nate Robinson beat defending champion Dwight Howard of Orlando in what was called an “electrifying” slam dunk contest, winning 52 percent of fans' votes. I still don’t understand how could Nate Robinson beat Howard last night or even get into the final round. Don’t get me wrong I love Nate Robinson and the heart he brings to the game but his dunks weren’t creative or new. The contest isn’t about dunks anymore, it’s about who can be more creative and hype the fans up. This whole Superman Vs. Kryptonite theme was obviously planned ahead of time. When the contestants were announced, Smith and Fernandez were rather unenthusiastic compared to Howard and Robinson. In an all-green Knicks uniform with bright green shoes, the 5-foot-9 "Lex Luthor" just made the dunk contest into a marketing deal, what a shame. They gave what the fans wanted to see, even if Nate did the same exact dunk to win in 2006. "I got the championship back to New York City," Robinson said. At least we have some kind of trophy in the heart of the city.

  2. I was watching that too and that was by far the most spectacualr display of basketball athleticism i have ever seen. Nater Robinson really is the heart, soul, and ever other possible organ the New York Knicks may posses. His display of determination and physcial ability just shows that with the right amount of effor human beings can accomplish anything
